I enjoyed reading about Romeo, in the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. The main idea of this text is revenge and the damaging consequences of revenge, Romeo playas big part in the main idea, which makes it interesting in the play. Romeo is a teenager about sixteen-seventeen years old, he is from a place called Verona, which is located in Italy. Romeo is the main character in this text. 3 things I liked about Romeo is, he lets he feeling decide his path ahead, he is brave, and because he is confident in everything he does. Romeo is an impulsive person, he does things without thinking it through properly. One example of his impulsiveness is when Romeo is willing to risk his life to see his love Juliet. 'Thy kinsmen are no stop to me', this showing Romeo's love controlling him. As soon as he wants to see Juliet he rushes to see her, letting nobody stop him. If he had been seen, he would have been killed. This excitement of, is he going to be seen or isn't he, makes it very enjoyable to read. Another example of Romeo's impulsiveness is when he buy's poison to commit suicide because of Juliet's death." Let me have a dram of poison", this quote shows how much Romeo wants to die, he doesn't even want to think about how Juliet died, he just wants to be dead like her. Romeo's impulsiveness has led himself to death, if he stayed alive, he would've found out that Juliet was still alive, but his quick impulsive actions was over powering him, therefore he could not wait to die. I enjoyed reading about Romeo, his impulsiveness and not knowing what he is going to do next, makes the reader want to keep reading. Romeos' impulsiveness has led him into killing Tybalt. After Romeo's close friend Mercutio is killed by Tybalt, Romeo's impulsive action forces him to get revenge on Tybalt, 'fire ey'd fury'. That quote shows Romeo's anger and plans of revenge. Without properly checking on Mercutio, Romeo rushes to get Tybalt, his first priority is to killed Tybalt. This leads to the main idea of revenge. Romeo never slowed down and thought about what his consequences of revenge would be. Romeo was successful in killing Tybalt, which led him to his consequence, which was dying. Romeo was being hunted down, therefore his only option was to commit suicide and kill himself with poison. If Romeo had never crashed the party, Tybalt wouldn't have come for revenge. 'Thou art villain' shoes Tybalts intention to kill someone and 'fire eyd fury' shows Romeo's plans for revenge. Both Tybalt and Romeo's consequence of revenge was them both dying. If Romeo hadn't of killed Tybalt, he may have still been with Juliet, but his impulsiveness was too strong for him to control, which led to him not seeing Juliet, the ultimate consequence of him dying. It is stated in the prologue of the two fierce families, the Montague's and the Capulet's, ' From ancient grudge to new mutiny', that shows how long this rivalry has been going on for. These two families would do anything to destroy each other, which show the strength of the Montague's and the Capulet's. The consequences of these two families are the death of 4 people, Rome, Juliet, Mercutio and Tybalt. The most important deaths is the death or Romeo and Juliet, because of their families they could not be together, which led them to anger and all this rivalry, building stringer and stronger, causing it to turn into revenge and death. Romeo helped me understand the main ides of revenge and it consequences. He has gotten revenge for Mercutio and has led to his death, which was the consequence. Overall I have enjoyed reading about Romeo and Juliet. Romeo has made the main idea of revenge and its consequences easier to understand.
